I have a created a plugin to add a custom field in my admin UI. I can see the plugin in the sidebar. however, when I click on the link, it is showing output

That’s just some boilerplate code you get when you generate a plugin. If you don’t need the sidebar item you can just remove it. See the plugin development docs. In this case; specifically the admin API docs Admin Panel API for plugins | Strapi Documentation
