at my company we currently have hundreds of ecommerce websites on Wordpress with a shared theme between them (eg. https://toursdumontblanc.com/), each has their own domain. Currently they all have their own WP instance, which means if we have a product that is shared between sites, we have to add it manually to each site. It’s an absolute pain to manage.
We’re currently exploring options to migrate to a centralised headless CMS solution, that would allow us to have hundreds of different website domains, with some products that can easily be shared between them. A versatile API and support for custom blocks on the fronted.
I’ve stumbled upon Strapi and have read online about multisite and it seems promising. Before I embark on this, I’m curious if anyone has had such projects before and whether this is a good idea plus any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated
