If you are using extensions, before any update to a new release, you should check if the files that have in extensions have changed. If these modified and you update to a newer version of strapi, it may cause errors, because you have an old code in extensions, so you should handle the migration of the new file manually, and copy the modifications from release manually to your extensions files.
