Md5 hash in uploaded files

It would be nice to have md5 or else hash method to check if uploaded files are different from local. Adding a md5 field in files information would be enough, I think.

I need this to batch-update contents, detecting if images or documents changed without needing to re-upload again.

Any idea?

There is also no exact file size field in the files. To be able to check if the file changed by size.
