Can you build a full fledge backend for web & mobile app with Strapi?

Hello All,
I’m new to strapi and I’ve just checked it out. It looks promising with visual field creation which I always have been looking for.

I wanted to know how far can you go with strapi? Can you really build a backend for a complex web & mobile app (think of portal)?

Another question is can we modify admin code directly to add functionality in the admin without going through plugin route?

In my experience of 4+ years using strapi, I’m building complex application like vetapp.fr and app.mentoraccess.fr

If you want to modify the admin code, you can overwrite files by reproducing admin architecture inside strapi:
